Snow Removal - TOOOO Late

I usually clear the snow from my tractor tents/garages after every storm. This one did not make it. We had a nasty storm over three days which included rain, freezing rain and then snow (40cm). Fortunately, this one only had the backhoe in it and my tractors were in my two other tents that survived.

Can anyone recommend a replacement tent? Seems to be many on the market these days, not sure if any are better than the average ones. Prefer Heavy Duty material with UV protection.

Screw the tents build yourself a real barn and have an asset that lasts , serves your needs and appreciates in value.

I have two of the farm tek hoop sheds made by clear span structures and the one I have up has been up for 5 years now with zero issues.

That sucks. Heavy wet snow is tough. My father has that style and Ben up for years. I know he doesn't do anything to clear the snow. Maybe he should.......

Mine is made by Shelterlogic. I purchased it from Canadian Tire. I went with this design because its shaped like an egg and the snow don't hold up on the roof. It's planted on pavement and I used over 20 lengths of 40" rebar to hold it down. I used a ground rod driver to put them down and it stayed. Never an issue and I've seen the neighbours 30 year od trees topple down and the shelter stayed up. It's says you can put one of these up in a day well it took me three working on an off but again, it stayed.

I am in the camp of forgetting getting anotheer "portable shed" and build a real one. Less problems, lasts longer in snow laden areas. I had one - was destroyed by winds and snow. never again. I built a add on garage and it was the best thing I ever did.

BLAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Hilarious. Bet you feel dumb. Ask ME how I know....

I replaced my tent with a roof addition on my shed - pic attached. I pole-barn roof can be put up for roughly tent cost (a good tent - not the Cosco special that I had) and it should last pretty much forever. Stand alone roof would be easier and cheaper than the addition I built.

I also like the Shelterlogic with the round top for stability when handling the snow.....

One tip is to keep some clearance on the sides to help shovel or snowblow the excess as it does build up with a heavy snow year, otherwise it will build up and crush the sides.......clearing roof during and after heavy snow still needed

I opted for the shelter route cuz I didn't need the security of am enclosed building but rather needed shelter from rain, pine needles and sun
