Snow Snow plow and hydraulic help

Thanks again Kenny. You are the man when it comes to hydraulics. I have been reading since posting earlier and every hydraulic post you have replied and helped someone out. So when I call Surplus Center I need to ask them for this PB plug that will fit into the BYD port of my new valve. I will have to pull that plug and see what size the threads are.

thanks again

Thank you for your kind words:eek:

Use the term "power beyond sleeve" when you call, rather than "plug" No need to pull the plug, just tell them what info you have on the valve. It is probably a "one PB sleeve fits all Cross valves"type of thing...

I will call tomorrow. I did pull the plug and it is bigger then 3/4 NPT but smaller then 1" It must be an odd size.

I will keep you updated and appreciate all your help. I wish I would have done this a month and a half ago with all the snow we have got here in MD.

I live on the Eastern Shore about 35min from the bridge off of 404. I work on your side though near Odenton.

When I hooked up my Curtis plow I purchased an electric solenoid hydraulic valve and mounted it above my FEL valve. I have an electric switch in my cab that will activate the electric solenoid so that I can either angle my blade when the solenoid is activated, or if it isn't activated it will control the dump and roll back cycle on my loaded. I find it woks well, and the one FEL lever does everything.

Kenneyd can likely explain what I have set up better than I can.

You have a electric "diverter" valve.

The OP already has this manual spool valve-I doubt he want's to buy another device.

With the manual spool valve will he still have the dump and roll cycle on his FEL?

Yes. The new valve just adds a entirely independent circuit.

Kenny,

I got the valve mounted to the tractor this morning and the PB sleeve should be here Monday. I got a guy lined up to make the new hoses but have a couple quick questions.

From what I have read here the valve marked green is my PB port on the FEL. Is that correct?
How can I tell which valve is my output (the one I am going to put a "T" in) from the FEL?

Again thanks for all your help and my newbie questions.

Not quite sure what you mean by "marked green", It should be marked PB or BYD as well-If it's not marked, then follow it out and it should go to the 3PH.

The one you are going to Tee should be marked OUT, or T (for tank), it should go to the tranny case (basically the sump)

Be sure to use proper hydraulic fittings, please resist the urge to use plumbing fittings from the hardware store...

Kenny,

I got it all figured out finally. I read here while searching and somewhere someone said the power beyond switch will be marked green. I just cleaned the valve up really good and noticed a "BY" by the green marked cable. I also seen a "P" and a "T" . I found out the "P" is the pressure in port and the "T" is the return port back to the tank.

I will certainly use the correct fittings. I dont like doing things twice or half *****

Now to just wait for the rest of the parts to show up before the next big storm.

Thanks again for the quick reply
