Winter is here and the snow is falling. We saw 5-6" last weekend and another 5-6 last night. Here are a few pics... I asked my wife to snap a few for me. The 1st is a short video clip that's all over the place... she thought she was snapping a pic but didn't switch it off video :D :D ... Thought I'd post it with the pics.

Great pictures. That looks like a snow machine.

We finally got 3-4 inches today - our first snow. I was surprised how well the FEL worked to clear snow. I'm sure its no comparison to the snowblower, but I had 3 driveways cleared within an hour. All of them were fairly long - 100+ feet.

Hey Mike... good to hear you got a little seat time in on yours too. They certainly make moving snow more fun. :)

I've now got a 2305 in my garage as well. I had no idea how much better the 2520 would be in the snow. However I've now moved snow with both machines and I can't believe how much better the 2520 is over the 2305. It's night and day better. Not that the 2305 is a slouch. It isn't... but wow... the 2520 will absolutely run circles around my 2305. Enjoy yours!

You forgot to post pics... :D :D Come on now, get 'em posted.

I am sitting at work right now looking at your great pics of the JD blowing snow. We have about 4-6 inches and it hasn't quit all day. I can't wait to get home to start blowing snow too. I have a 2.5 mile driveway and usually use my Yamaha Rhino with a 72" plow but the wind has been pretty bad so I will have to bust out the Yanmar 2000 with the 3 pt. blower to clear the drifts...

Shawk, I can't compare the 2305 to the 2520 in snow, but you're absolutely right, the 2520 is a tank in the snow (we had about 3-4"). For a while I was actually pushing snow the whole length of my driveway 100+ feet before I realized I hadn't engaged the 4wd. By the time I noticed I was already pushing a good sized pile of snow, and not a hint of wheel spin.

To be honest, I was hoping I might be able to justify splurging for the snow blower (which I notice you now have listed 4 sale), but w/ the success I had w/ the FEL today, I think I might focus on other attachments first.

Sorry, no pictures today. This is the first I've heard of the 2305. When can we expect to see pictures of this one? Here's a thought, keep the 2520 for snow and the 2305 for mowing. Can you sell that?

That's good way to beat some of that cabin fever Shawk...good equipment and warm winter wear.

Shawk,

That's not golf! :) Actually I'm glad you had a chance to run your 2520 through the paces. When you talk about differences between this machine and your 2305, please tell us what exactly you mean.

Thanks guys...

scesnick... that is A LOT of drive to clear  ... Sounds like fun though with the right tools.

Jdf... I'm going to make an attempt to put together some kind of a short review comparing the two machines soon. The 2520's heavier weight, larger tires and higher stance just made the work much faster (with a rear blade). Those large turfs on my 2520 REALLY BITE well. More to come... think spring. :)

For seven years I moved snow on the drive with the FEL on my JD 870. It was equipped with turf tires and they did surprisingly well, I had a plow on the back but never used it. The debate over snowblower vs. plow is to me a mute point, I don't need either.

it is fun, Until the wind starts howling and it is 0 degrees outside. ( I don't have a cab on the tractor ) I usually get the backhoe out then just for the cab and heat factor.
