Here's a great shot of why we need to take into account snow loads before we build our homes and shops. Not sure where this picture came from but it did show up in my inbox last week.
I wouldnt want to go into that house.![]()
That's either a house that went to the Big DQ in the Sky or there is a silo hidden in there somewhere.
Dave.
Here in Oklahoma, around 10 years ago we had a clearance/outlet store collapse due to snow and poor design. I tried to find an article about it, but the name of the place was called Walls, and so any search for it brings up general snow load situations and Murray building stuff.
Anyway, it collapsed during business hours and (I am almost positive) that everyone was blown out of the building. Can you imagine getting blown out of a building?
Dave
my snow load slid off. don't think it pushed the poles in any, it's almost 3' deep.
