Snow BloweR Snow Box Combo??????

Cool topic. I've thought of doing something similar with my front blower, or perhaps starting from scratch. As several ppl throughout this and other topics say, blow deep, push/drag shallow snow for quicker clean outs and to do path's 1-1.5 x as wide as the blower. I like it. Anyone have any thoughts as to the reason he's got the flexible cover for when the blade is down?

The one in the back? That's to lift up when backing into deep snow or snowbanks (to allow a bigger bite).
