Snow at my Cabin

Took a ride up to my cabin with my son to help shovel off the roof. There was quite a bit of snow up there.

Couldn't make it up the driveway with my truck so my son carried the ladder and I carried the shovels. The roof had almost 4 foot of snow on it. As you can see from the roof.

My son looked more tired than me...

I feel a lot better now that we got tons of weight off of it because it is supposed to warm up and once it all turns to ice there would be no removing it..

A good excuse to get away and bond with my son for a half a day. Win Win situation!!

Nice place you got there. With that much snow, you really have no choice to remove it if you want to take care of the place. That is no doubt, a lot of snow on the roof.

It's my favorite place... the plot of land was part of my Grandparents dairy farm and has been in the family for many generations.

Had a lot of fun building it back in 82-83 and then added on in 2005. Most all the labor was family supplied... helps to have uncles and cousins that are in the building trades....

Ground floor is concrete block with stucco, inside and out. Top Floor is mortised timber grown on the farm sawed by a traveling sawyer... Heat is from a ceramic tile oven located in the center of the home and hot water is by electric tankless heater.
