Since I bought my CK20ST, I get asked this question;" What kind of tractor you buy?" Answer: A Kioti; Q: what's that? who makes it? A: Kioti!....response; never heard of it, why'd you buy that? <snickers> you should have bought a Kabota!
Anyone else gotton this kind of responce? or is it just because I'm in 'bota=land where everyone's aunt, uncle. brother, sister, niece and newphew owns one? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I think you answered your own question. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Around here they would probably say John Deere. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I had a friend/co-worker of mine saying the exact same thing to me when I bought my DK 35.
Last summer when I was installing my utility lines for the new house he came over to help out.
He ran my DK and the backhoe for part of a day while I worked down in the ditch laying the water line.
He was very impressed with how well the tractor was built, also the performance and power of the tractor and the backhoe.
He has never questioned why I went with Kioti ever since /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

It takes a special person to break away from the crowd. I know that some of us are a little unusual in the "Way we rationalize". That is a good thing /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif. IMHO, Dodge made the worst looking and best running truck since I can remember about trucks in the fifties. I noticed way back then that the people that drove them, managed thier finances very well and seemed to provide better for the family than most others, that had more income. I finally got a Dodge truck when they got the Cummins engine and that unusual body style. Well, The next think I know, the other Mfgrs trucks bodystyle was looking more like Dodge and they were also scrambling to find better diesel engines for thier trucks. They did, and now we all have a better line of trucks to choose from. I think that is great /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif. Bottom line for me is that "We are all unique" individuals and it is probably best to not worry about what the neighbors think. If you make sound decisions, based on values and insight, They will be right with you, quicker that a cat can blink a eye /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif--Ken Sweet

When I first got the CK20HST I had a friend say, "That sure is a nice Kubota." I said, "Look again, it's a Kioti." I explained about it, that the Kubota was a lot more money, and that the Kioti was a lot more tractor. I showed him the rear of the tractor, and he said, it sure is a lot more tractor.
I remember in the 70s when a friend bought a Kubota. Another of our friends said, "What the heck kind of tractor is that?" After my friend explained it was a Japanese tractor, the other one said, "People that eat with sticks shouldn't make tractors."
So you see, the Kubota went through the same thing when it came here, and we all know where they are now. John

I can remember people said the same thing about transistor radios made by Japan in the sixties. I was building a Made IN USA Heathkit HW-16 Ham Radio Tranceiver along about that time and I also had my concerns. Over time, I was proved wrong. Today, some of the best Amateur Radio gear comes from that part of the world. --Ken Sweet

DirtHauler; I get the same thing, and my tractor is BLUE. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif It usually comes from people that don't know the first thing about tractors. I think they are all good tho.

The next thing I get is, Why do want that big of a tractor? /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gifYou see, I keep it down here in Monroe, except for snow and dirtwork, it just sits on the trailer or in the garage. It's just a little big for lawnmowing on 3/4 acre lots. Ignore the remarks, there is enough of us that understand that you don't need to hear it from the peanut gallery. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Hey, when they ask the questions, you could use that obnoxious remark you see on the back of Jeeps, you just use it for Kioti. "It's a Kioti thing, you wouldn't understand". /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
