Snapper differential bad on hills?

Ok, before I have a stroke with my push mower...I need to get a self propelled mower.
I have several LONG...STEEP drainage ditches that the county just put in so we're not drown by the 100 year flood. You know...the one that Noah floated around in...after mowing them I think I’d rather drown.
Anyway, there is no way I can mow them with my lawn tractor. I like the Snapper with the Kawasaki engine but I'm afraid the disc drive and open differential will just spin the unloaded downhill wheel and I'll just have a heavier, more expensive push mower. The slope is too steep to mow up and down. It must be mowed along the slope. …the long, steep slope.
Does anyone have experience with a Snapper self propelled mower on hills?

I have had more than enough time with the 21" snapper on hills ! I do wish they had a lock-up rear but you can make it work. I push on the down hill side handle and the uphill side I put a little down pressure on the lower cross brace. Have been useing the 6hp Briggs ,plenty of power and no problems ,real nice mower. I am picking up a new one tomorrow with the Kawasaki,hope it holds up as well. Good luck !

My 21" Snapper self propelled is like having an open differential rear end, the tire that gets the least traction spins.
I have not used mine on any significant hills and probably would not since they were not built for hillside and traction is not that good with the skinny hard tires.

You need a mower that has a pressurized oil lubrication motor and big tires.
There are several self propelled that will work for what you want to do but may not be in the budget.
