Just to clarify, is the noise only when front wheel drive is engaged?
Does it change if turning or going in a straight line?

just an off the cuff, check you lug nuts/bolts.

Remove the cover on the 4x4 driveshaft(loosen the rubber coupling and collapse it),sounds like the circlip may have broke and allowed some of the ball bearings that drive the 4x4 fall out.Make sure you are on payment so you don't lose any of them if thats what happened

I would start where CHIP said, look at the lug nuts, outer hub and inner hub all the bolts. and the weights too. then do as tommy suggested. also need to know if it only does it in 4 wheel drive, or if all the time or only when turning ect.

The couplers are spring loaded,so when you pull back the coupler the drive shaft will come out, most of the time if 1-or more of the ball bearings fell out you will find them in the cover

I agree with others.. lugnuts, bearings, ( hub) and then perhaps if inside.. check ring gear .. etc..

Well i checked the wheel nuts , the ones that hold the rim to the axle , i did get about 1/4 turn , and now its not makeing that snaping sound, it didnt fix it self so that must be what it was , in less i didnt have the 4X4 lever up all the way ,would that make it do that ?, but what ever it was its ok now , thanks for all the Help , Frank
