I hope I didn't come off as a know it all, but I had just been through the same thing ,and was going to use treated also until I started to read a lot of bad stuff on treated and aluminum.
the picture on the flat bed made me laugh because that's how I brought mine home, when I bought it.
but I had a street light pole on the trailer from an auction, that I had just picked up, so it was a strange looking load.
Mine is about the same vintage
sea nymph , the drain plug in mine is a screw in plug with a rubber washer. It is a straight thread not tapered, about 3/4 inch, don't know where Id ever find another one if I lost it.
