TC24DA
I just put the first half hour of life on my new blue toy. I spent my me-time moving a snow bank so I could park my truck easier, but noticed that the bucket moved real slow when dumping, even when so loaded it could barely lift. I was also not very impressed with the overall speed (hydstatic) of the beast in low range and the seemingly lack of lift power. Am I over critical or is this just the normal tighness of a new tractor ? Does it loosen up and get quicker (loader) and if so, when ?

Were you running at ~2400-2600 rpm? Hydrostatic pump flow is dependent on tractor rpm. Sometimes I'm not in a hurry (or I don't want to hear the engine wound up to 2500 rpm) and I will run at a lower rpm, but tractor ground speed and hydraulic functions (e.g. FEL capacity and bucket movement speed) will be slower.

Low range is not for speed, it is for torque.

I am getting used to the hydro, I have always had manual trans in everything. I understand the torque and proper use of the foot control (fully pressed does not mean more power) I am just unsure if the hydraulics are normally that slow. I was planning on putting a log splitter on this, but with the small capacity cyliners on the FEL, it would take forever to move the splitting ram. I kept the RPM's up there, but not quite to the PTO marker. The TC24DA is a bit change from a Case 300, although much nicer to look at and trailers better.

Nice looking tractor.........welcome to TBN and blue world
I think NH recommends not running the tractor at real high RPM's during a break in period...yeah right /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif......but the hydraulics will respond quicker the higher the RPM

Nice looking tractor. I really like the new decals on the loader as well as the hood emblem. I'm not totally sure on the headlights yet wether I like mine or the DA version better. Does anybody know on the 24DA what you gained over the 24D?

Looks cool, is the hood plastic now? And how’s the cockpit area look now? It would be grand if you could post a few more pictures showing a bit more detail. Oh and like how about a under hood shot as well.

Thanks

George

PS: The styling is so progressive! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I was at the dealers the other day, he said the only changes other than appearance were in the comfort areas. I thought he said they moved the headlight switch so you don't keep turning it off with your knee. A few other things like that, but the guts and operation are pretty much the same. Maybe somebody else has done more of comparison, I was in a hurry and certainly not in the market for another tractor, so I didn't spend much time looking.

Nice looking tractor. Since I have a lot of payments left on my D model, I'm going to keep telling myself I like mine better /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Jim,
If I remember reading the brochures posted here, the 24DA lost some over the 24. Less gpm pump was one thing.
