I stopped by my daughters horse farm today. She said her BX seemed to be moving slow. I tried it and agreed, especially in reverse. It has 350 hours.

Any ideas?

Change out the filters first then check and top off the fluids and see what happens then

Ok, ill do that. Does the pedal mechanism have any adjustment?

It feels like it is not engaging all the way even though the reverse pedal is on the floor.

Check under the machine for a stick or other debris caught in the linkage. Also freeze the zerk for the pedals

What does freeze them mean?

Sorry that was grease. Apparently spell check on my phone isn't very smart

Don't know if this could be the problem with the BX2660 or not, but one of the many problems I had with a GR2110 was very slow ground speed, even with the pedal clear down. Espically bad in reverse. It turned out to be a loose set screw, where the linkage attached to the imput shaft on the transmission. I traded it on a BX2660, but haven't got to look it over to see how it hooks to the tranny yet.

Wondering if the screen has ever been pulled and cleaned? If you use a tapered cork or tapered rubber plug or 1" down to 7/8", you can pull that screen and clean it, without losing more than mere ounce or two of fluid.

Seems like that hydro noise would be really bad though it the screen or filter was plugging up. I don't know.

Ok, thanks guys. Your suggestions make sense. Hearing your experience with a set screw, it seems to match with the way it felt just driving it for a few minutes. But I will check the other things too when I get back to her farm in a few days.

My son-in-law has been doing the maintenance. I don't know how well he has been doing it though.

They did have a problem last summer and I'm not 100% sure what happened or what was the fix. But my daughter said a hydraulic hose in the engine compartment got too hot and ruptured and they lost fluid.

I don't know how long they ran it after that. They took it to the dealer and were lucky enough to get the repair handled by warranty. I really don't know what parts were replaced. But my daughter says this slow ground speed condition starting after that and has been getting increasingly worse.

Maybe I'll talk to the dealer, who I know, and try to get some reliable information on what happened from him.
