Has anyone out there come up with a ramp rattle fix? Love my trailer, HATE that it sounds like a POS when it hits bumps. They store in an open "tray" between the rails, (where the wheels set on the deck) with straps attempting to quiet them. All steel trailer with expanded metal between the rails.
Trying to brainstorm some over-center type lock down toggle clamp thingy to shut them up.
Thanks.

I have a suspicion that even if you had the ramps tightly clamped at each support, that the expanded metal decking would flex just enough between supports to slap the ramps on every bump. If you have a way to space the ramps away from the decking just enough (1/2", maybe?) wherever it is clamped/strapped with something like a chunk of PT ply or conveyor belt that might be enough. If it would not interfere with other uses, they could be directly attached to the deck, otherwise you might want to figure out some sort of hole-and-locating-pin arrangement to keep them from squirming out from under the ramps in use?

Maybe a portion of a thick rug under one end would quiet them down a little, but they are still going to bounce and rattle some.

Have you tried turning up the radio?:)

This. And I recommend windows up, A/C blowing.

I hardly ever hear mine, different trailer construction I guess. I knew guys that would just put their ramps in the bed of their truck instead of back under the trailer, for both rattling issues, and for ramp retention issues. But I never really had problems with either one of those issues, so my ramps go back underneath in the "tray" compartment.

Probably 'ought to be slowing down for those bumps anyway, with an empty trailer especially, as that's the most likely time you're going to bounce a ramp out of the ramp box. Seen that happen plenty of times with my racing club buddies.
