I am in the process of purchasing a Kubota BX22TLB and I have a couple of sleeve hitch attachments from my Craftsman GT3000 (25Hp Kohler Prov VTwin). Does anyone know if you can convert sleeve hitch attachments to a Cat 1 3PH attachment (I have a 10" moldboard and 36" box scraper.). Should I even try? I'd appreciate any input.

Thanks

I do know that Ingersoll made an adapter for its cat 0 TPH. I would think one could be made easy for a cat 1. Unfortuly I do not have a picture of one, but maby someone else does. My big consern would be how tough the attachments are.

I use my TPH trailer hitch I made. Made an insert that looks like the sleave hitch on my Craftsman, adjustment bolts and all. Works well, but the plow needs offset to the right to permit the right side wheels to ride in the previous furrow. BTW, I have a JD 790.

Congratulations on your BX22! /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif If I had the cash I would have one too. Even though your new Kubota has technically less hp than your garden tractor, it will pull MUCH harder and will probably tear your implements to pieces. If it were me I'd have my dealer set me up with a 48" box scraper with hydraulic top and tilt. I'm not sure about the moldboard, but your dealer will probably know. Good luck!

Go to http://www.brinly.com/ They may not be easy to find on their site anymore, but they make a cat 0 3ph->sleeve hitch adapter. It is basically a cat 0 a-frame with holes along the bottom rail that accepts a sleeve hitch. You could then get some cat 0/1 bushings to upsize the lower link pins. You might have to do some playing around on the top link, or more likely use a cat 0 toplink with it. I had one and it worked well for it's purpose. I think I paid around $100 for it.

However, you might have some trouble with the sleeve hitch attachments not being able to deal with the BX. I have a BX2200, and I think few of the sleeve hitch attachments I have seen/used would hold up for long. It's worth a shot, and you would only be out the $100 if it didn't work (a new box blade will cost a good bit more than that).

Nnickas - I have an older 18HP Craftsman garden tractor that I have retired from mowing and want to use with a back blade to work on my gravel driveway. I was at Sears yesterday and priced a sleeve hitch $150 and blade $205. What is your experience using attachments with the sleeve hitch? Any information you can give me on this subject will be appreciated.

I currently have a craftsman garden tractor with the sleave hitch and I use my grader blade, plow, and cultivator all the time. Using the ground engaging attachments with the manual lift arm can be very taxing on your right arm and shoulder. The plow and grader blade does great. I reccomend installing an electric lift to the sleave hitch first of all. Sears wants $459.00 for their kit, but I installed one on mine today for $150.00. It sure makes life easier. When you use the grader blade you will most likely need to lay a few concrete blocks on it for weight.

I personally would sell them off and use the money to get the new or used 3pt implements. From the ones I have seen in the past I believe the Kubota will tear them up the first time you catch a rock or root. Also if you watch the local ads you can see some of the smaller 3pt stuff for sale when people buy bigger machines.
