Howdy TBN'ers,
Here I come again asking for suggestions. I would like to have a good, simple way to make CD slide shows. One that will allow me to make a CD and send it to family and friends so they can pop it in and see the show.
It would be even better, if it could be viewed on TV with DVD player.
What are my options? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

You might try Irfanview. It has a slideshow generator. Also, check out Windows Movie Maker, which is built in to Windows XP. I've used both and I think either will do what you're looking for.

I've had good luck with Ulead Movie Factory.

Slide shows are a pretty basic feature of all the DVD "Authoring" programs....I would bet that even the stripped down versions of programs that come free with a retail packaged DVD burner would do it.

Mike,
I just got a DVD burner with the Ulead software. Still figuring it out , Any tips. I quickly found that the version that comes with the burner will not allow you to edit DVD's with Dolby sound /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

when i bought turbotax this year, staples was giving away photo explosion delux: i used it to put almost all of my pictures onto slideshows: in fact, i was just making cds to store all of the pics i have on my computer, so i was seeing how many i could put on one cd, and it was over 600: thats without any music or fancy bells and whistles...
another one i just bought off ebay, at the recommendation of a friend that does a lot of slideshow dvds, is pinnacle studio 9..i just bought it for less than $15 with shipping, and haven't received it yet.

Bill I've tried Irfanview but am having trouble getting a CD that my friend can get to play on his computer.
After burning it will play on my Win 98 with my old CD reader and back on my CD RW, When CD RW ejects it ask if the CD is to be read on "most CD players" and when I select that option it takes a couple of minutes to do some more writing before ejecting. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

HeeHaw, I went to Photo Explosion® Deluxe site and read that it will make CD than will play on TV thru most DVD players.

Have you tried that and did it work well?

I did a slide show to play on a TV through a DVD player can't remember the software, but it didn't work real well for me. It was like the TV didn't have enough lines for the pictures to be clear.

I have Roxio Easy CD and DVD Creator on my PC at work. It makes photo CDs that play in most DVD players, and you can add a sound track if you like. I have no idea what it cost because we have a site license.

yes, i have done several; the dvd player has to be able to play VCD's...that stands for Video CD....and it works great..one problem i had that i don't like, the software is suppose to have a quick route to make the vcd's, called picturetotv: and that doesn't work, so i have to go to start-programs-etc etc, to bring it up..and then it works great..much better than hpmemories disk program that i have used prior to this..in fact i was able to put over 600 pictures on one cd, using photo explosion. thats with no music or fancy stuff, just storing all of my pictures onto a cd.
