I just bought a JD 260 and am looking for a backhoe attachment. Most of what I am finding are Bobcat. As I am finding, the upper hookups are totally different with bobcat using special brackets bolted to the sides of the machine and deere using a turnbuckle link that hooks in right in front of the drivers seat. Is it possible to convert the bobcat backhoe attachment to fit the deere? Anybody done it?

I have been puzzled by this. If it is a back hoe, on a skid steer, how do you see it? I find it hard to see very well out the back of most skidsteers.
Wonder why they don't call them a front hoe?

I don't know the answer to your question, but I will take this opportunity to caution you about a conversion. If your conversion is not done correctly the consequences can be costly and quite possibly dangerous to the hoe operator.
The backhoe attachment is tied into the loader frame for a reason...there are lots of stresses that are inflicted on the skid steer. I'd try to hold out for a genuine Deere hoe or to check out what companies like Bradco have to offer.
What some people have done is to look for a Bradco hoe, no matter what brand it was originally mounted on. Since Bradco's are built in a component-type format, all you need to do is swap out the mounting system for a new Bradco mounting system for the Deere 260. Investigate this with your local Bradco dealer and see what the costs would be.

There are alot of suppliers for BH's that go on skid loaders.. most all BH's for skids require a specific mount kit.... We sell the Rhino brand, they have mounts to fit most all brands of skid loaders... let us know if we can help..
