Sounds like they have redesigned the skid plate from the original one that is why it is more expensive.

That's probably correct; in my past dealings with Richard Breault, he's been extremely helpful over the phone and never hesitated to answer my email questions regarding the purchase of the Bro-Tek thumb I got for my GC2310, even to the point of re-designing it for an interim version of my backhoe (which I apparently had, a late 2007 model), before the advent of the 2400 series. A very reasonable, very sharp guy. (Visited him in Miramachi several years ago, where he & his wife were very accommodating.) If you have questions, give him a call!

Looks like one heckuva skidplate. We have big rocks here and I like having a smooth skidplate rather than diamond plate so that it slides over rocks instead of tending to hang up on them. But if keeping heavy brush out of the works is the main goal it looks like a winner.

Suppose it has anything to do with new import tariffs? I recently found out that Garant (Canadian mfr) will not ship parts for my roof rake to the US, only whole units....
