Except for the Grand Marquis, does Mercury actually sell any cars anymore?

I see GM keeping Buick around, but I don't think the Ford Motor Company will keep Mercury around too much longer. It will go the way of Oldsmobile and Plymouth. Pretty soon, they'll only be offering Fords and Lincolns. I think it's that way in Canada now, isn't it?

Uh oh, I better run out and buy a new wardrobe so I can fit in with the rest of the Buick drivers.

BTW, I get about 27 mpg in this LeSabre and it is quick as all get-out for a 6 passenger car ... and the ride, is just beautiful.

I see Buick has the "portholes" in the front fenders again, but they've got it wrong. The Park Avenue Ultra only has three holes in each fender. They used to put FOUR in the top model and three in the lower models.

Buick started put them on their cars in 1949, and they were still putting FOUR on each side on the Electra models in the mid-1980's. My dad taught me a long time ago how to tell a Buick by the number of holes in the fender. It disappoints me to see that they did it wrong! /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

I don't "remember" it because I wasn't born yet! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
My dad says he was driving a DeSoto around that time! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif HEMI! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

The 1958 Buick was a huge land barge! Of course, all makes were like that in 1958! Buick discontinued the "portholes" in the 1958 models, and public outcry caused them to return by 1960. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Unfortunately 3 holes is amount correct now, as it only has 6 cylinders but not anatomically as the motor is turned sideways per FWD.

Gatorboy - that's about what "the boss's" Buick gets mpg-wise, unlike my Roadmaster wagon which still is'nt bad at about 17-18 mpg average w/ 5.7 and again - plenty of power.
