The Simplicity is shaft drive.I don't know anything about the Simplicity.
I did have an x540 for a while.

The Simplicity is shaft drive.
How is the x540 driven?

Perhaps the attachments: quality, design, and ease of use might help you decide. It's hard to beat JD attachment design. The hydraulic blade works great. But, you'll need weights and chains to be effective. I do this with my 425. Works real well, but putting those chains on every fall is a PITA.
Spend more, get 4WD and avoid the chains.
*This is exactly why I went from*For my money, knowing what I know now and doing what I do now, if I was buying new again I'd only be looking at 4WD with factory hydraulic implements. Having to make my own implements or mods would be a nonstarter for me: too much time to make, and not usually "as good".
I keep stepping up! Four wheel drive is offered on the Simlicity for a grand more! Now Im in the $8500 - $9000 range to cut grass!!! The bx and 2305 look real nice and I also looked at a Ventrac, the thing will climb walls... My wife will divorce me for sure. Ill maybe step back and look at used before spring. It seems the economy is going to be crummy this winter especially if Obama gets in. Cause hes going to tax the tar out of us! Who wants to cut my 2 acres for $150???? Ha HA Thanks for the help![]()

a CC GT 2554 with a rear tiller and front blade to a Kubota BX 1500 with a rear tiller and front blade.
Kubota cost a little more than the Cub Cadet but was well worth the difference!

1*My new BX1500 was under $8500 .
2*My used one was under $7500 and that included a new tiller and front blade with it.
1* bought a new Kubota 60'' hydraulic lift and hydraulic angle front blade for my BX1500 last Nov.1*Can you get hydraulic angle control on a scraper blade for a BX?
2*I couldn't find such an attachment on the Kubota website.
3*Looked to all be mechanical.
4* As far as I can tell, you had to step up to the B series to get that.
5*Or am I missing something?
6*Hydraulic angle control is a must for me on a snow plow.
