Years and years ago there was a video clip of a farmer taking down a huge brick silo with a crawler tractor. It fell the wrong way also - right back on the crawler tractor. Fortunately, the guy saw it coming and was able to exit the area successfully. And from what I remember, it only bent up his roll cage slightly.

Sort of gross comment when not knowing the person. :thumbdown:

Perhaps he was just braver than the average person and didn't have the equipment or finances to safely bring it down. :confused3:

I thought Deere Dude was spot-on. You say "braver" ... I guess there's a fine line between bravery and stupidity.

Most of the stupid things I've done that brought me close to death, I can blame more on stubbornness than bravery.

Seen many videos of silos being torn down on youtube. What is the reason for taking them down? I know in the case of the silo in the original post, the story said it was to make way for a new housing development.
