Sihl starting

I had all the fuel hoses rot on a little Stihl 170 . . . 270? anyway, it would reason that if the internal hoses were cracked in the fuel tank, that it would work better when full and not suck air through a crack.

Two MS250s here. And a Km 90 string trimmer.
They will flood easily.
Two pulls on choke listening for the pop then click off choke.
If no start, I place on the ground holding in place with my knee and hold the trigger wide open and pull the rope clearing the flood.
Usually no more than 5 pulls.

Why two MS250s?
Until I learned the starting process above, it was easier on my blood pressure and attitude to leave the non starter sitting and grab the other one!

Always kills me, seeing people start a saw on the ground. Looks so uncomfortable.

In the winter when my 661 is cold I start it on the ground. Even with the decompression button pushed in it's hard to get a good pull. Once the engine is warm drop starts are easy

Thanks all! I have an older model with decompression or easy start. I am going to try the two pulls and release choke and see how it works.
