I have the chance to buy a Fast Hitch Sickle Bar Mower for my Farmall 100 and I was wondering if anyone had some opinions about which was better, Fast Hitch rear mounted Sickle bar mowers or belly mounted sickle bar mowers? Comments from personal experiences with either welcomed.
Thanks, Ramon

Personal preference.

Consider installation/removal ease, length of time mower will be installed, other uses of tractor with mower Attached.

For operating its about the same as MM or rear mount finish mowers. If all manual controls the belly mount is handier and is easier to operate and watch. Also easier to get hung up and stuck in mud.

There is no proper answere. It's an impliment chosen for specific working conditions.

Depends.
If you are concerned about quick attachment/removal, go fat hitch. I have on for my 200 and it attaches faster than any 3PH ever thought of being. If you don't want a sore neck, get a Mid mount. My brother has one on his 140 and it's great for roadside mowing.

My opinion: why didn'y IHC sell their Fast-Hitch patent? I hate 3PH. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

As the others say, the mid mount is easier to control & watch, while the rear mount is much easier to put on/off.

Your pick.
