sickle bar knives

I have aquired a nice Gardens Way mower. They are out of business but does someone else handle the knives for it? They are 2" wide, 3" long and the rivit holes are 1 1/4 apart. I would like to buy a set and the rivits also. Perhaps some other brand will fit, these ones say made in France.

Welome to TBN ! Looks like not too may folks have information for you. Let me give it a guess. TSC stores here in the States have several brands and type of sickle knives for Ford, New Holland, John Deere, Massey, New Idea, etc. These knives are used on hay mowers and combine heads. From the size you describe, it looks to me like you could use any of those knives, even if you had to re-drill the bar.

That being said, I see that eBay has sellers and many other ag parts companies are there on-line, too. You usally buy these knives in bundles of 10 so add 'em up. Instead of rivets, you can also use special nuts and bolts especialy designed for this job. These come in large packets. TSC also sells the nut/bolts and rivets for you. They have a website and can probably even order on-line.

So, there's a few options for you....
