I purchased a used dk55 2years ago,it had shuttle problems ,grinding all the time forward and reverse.We split the tractor replaced the schryos and keys ,also replaced the clutch.Tractor worked perfect for 100 hrs then i found 2broken keys on front plug at oil change, now has jammed in reverse once,rocked and it freed up. Are there any bulletins about this problem?Any suggestions would be appreciated.:)

I don't remember reading about any shuttle or synchronizer issues on that model.

replace the F-R shift fork because it's bent and the new one should be thicker.

Thanks for the advice,Iguess we are splitting the tractor again when time permits.I dont think it will hurt to operate as it is , just hope it doesnt jam up.

Don't split it. I just looked it up on the kioti site and the F-R shift fork is under the steering wheel. The updated shift fork has the fork with a back bone for extra support instead of a skinny flat fork shift fork like the older ones have. It's pretty simple to do and should take a couple of hours. Shift fork part# T4682-22154 $90.00, Gasket T4682-22221 $12.00. Check with your local dealer with serial number but this should do it. Good luck.

I have this same exact tractor and problem and cannot see how you can replace the fork without splitting the tractor. I could really use some explanation on how its done without splitting.

I'm wrong. I got confused with the DK45S and the DK55. The DK55 has a toggle from the top that goes into the shift fork which rides on a shaft that has to come out from the front of the transmission. Sorry for the mis info. While your there check the synchros and make sure the keys are not in the bottom of the transmission also.

I have the same exact problem and noticed the synchros in my oil when I drained it. Going to finish splitting it tonight, I am assuming it is pretty obvious on how to replace the synchros?

Once the tractor is split you can take the bolts off the plate around the main shaft, on the right side of the trans there is a 12 MM bolt that you have to remove in order to take out the reverse gear with a magnet. Don't drop the thrust washers. After the reverse gear is turned then pulled up and out then pull the shaft out with all the synchro assembly. Lay it on a bench and assemble it with the keys. The keys will fall out of course so put a rubber band around the keys and carefully install into trans. Take out the rubber band once it's all put together and slide the shifter ring to make sure it works smoothly.
The hardest part is removing the reverse gear and thrust washers with the magnet without dropping anything.
