Spreader shutoff for cyclone spreader

my tractor has expaded metal welded to the rops so i can't reach back to the spreader.

does anyone have a simple idea to open and close the gate on a 3 pt pto driven fertilizer spreader.

i was trying to go to multiple small food plots and i seem to loose quite a bit running around tractor at the start or finish.

Have you thought about a 12V linear actuator?
