Things are under control, once again. I had posted a photo of me plowing during the blizzard (and it was, we officially got 30" here) and someone observed that the photo was a good argument for a cabbed tractor! He's right, of course. I know it! But then, today was bright and sunny, around freezing, just perfect for being out on an open station tractor, being fully part of the plowing/clearing experience. I drive in the woods to collect firewood, and use a post hole auger, which I wouldn't want a cab for, and I can't afford two tractors, so... I think I found the limit for a plow on a small CUT- a snowblower would have been nice, but probably not faster than repeated cuts and pushing.
I would have used my loader bucket and rear blade for this storm (I have to deal with a confined lane in places, with no place to push the snow off to the sides) but I stupidly parked them too far back in the yard- getting to them would have been a whole other project.
And, my neighbor came by in his Deere 5055E with a hot cab, and let me play with it a bit. All in all, a good day. Now, to get a gas snowblower to avoid shoveling!!
