Snow shoveling snow with a 4110/FEL

As to "floating" with a 2210 I have not been able to use float while moving forward at all no matter what. The 2210 is probably too light with the pivot point on the bucket frame too high to prevent front end hopping. I engage float while the bucket is still a foot off the ground and it settles nicely. The bucket tilt is still active in float.
I use my back blade in reverse to push LOTS of snow then push forward with the FEL. this seems to be very quick and efficient as the tractor is working both directions. It would be nice to have guage skids on the RB, anybody make em? I have a Frontier 72" blade. Using the FEL to scrap concrete is no problem. I level the bucket then lower it till it hits, then raise it about an inch and adjust the bucket level as I go to prevent gouging.

Thanks for the tip on getting it to Float. I've been trying with the same results as others, lifts the front end up. Snapping it forward seems to be the key. Once I got the feel for it , had no problems making it float.

I got the knack of putting the FEL into float in moving my 19.5 tons of gravel. I'd dump, snap it into float and then back up to smooth out the gravel. You just gotta be bold and expect it to be there. It is. Don't know why they don't explain the FEL float technique in the manual. They just say it's there all way forward, nothing about boldly snapping it into place, etc.

I plow my driveway (blacktop, 300ft + the apron) with my 4600 w/ FEL. I use the float all the time and it really works well... no gouging, etc. It takes a little getting used to, but once you become accustomed to "popping" the joystick into the float it works really well. If it's not working for you, then check with your dealer because it should be pretty easy to engage.

The float works fine, it was just getting used to "popping" it in. Cleared snow off a gravel driveway today, just kept a slight up angle to the bucket so it didn't gouge into the gravel.

I use to plow with my 4100 with a 54 front blade and now with my new 4310 with 430 FEL my time is way shorter, these guys on here helped me to even make that time quicker using the float....

Now I think I need a boom blade for the FEL430, what has the best one out there as well as prices? Our JD dealer sells Curtis.
