Should I help this kid?

I have rebuilt carburetors, rebuilt engines, rebuilt transmissions, clutches, etc. but do NOT know how to jump the solenoid with a tire iron. That's a weird skill. I do know how to clean a grouse with one quick jerk though. Also, how to locate and remove the tenderloin from the inside of a deer belly. Some people have some skills considered odd by others.

My wife could jump off the solenoid if she saw it.

She would have no idea the how or why, she has no idea of the names of the parts, but I have described how to do it too her over the phone so she can keep mowing for the day.

My experience is that thieves don't work as hard as you are describing.

But I would also agree with Moss I think it was, I would keep a bit of distance for a bit, I would have someone else with me, and we would probably stay on each side of the car, but I would like to think I could help him get going.

If it were my son, I would hope someone would do the same for him someday.

If the guy was the Governor or Senator or in a Tux or she was in a bikini, would that have changed your opinion?

None of those types know a billhook from a tuckerfinger. And you probably don't know your IP address unless you think its the bathroom in the garage.

My Dad once help 2 strangers one Sunday morning, almost the same exact circumstances, they knocked and asked for help. The other one went out cold in the back from staying up driving all nite. He got them started and on their way.

Next week a check for $100 was hand delivered by a man who had not seen his son in 12 years. The kid left home as an angry boy, dreams went bad and had begged to come home. On his way there the luck ran out.

I believe Dad had his Colt snubby with him, but never showed it.

I have that gun now and pet it once and a while, hoping that something will still rub off of it....
