Should I file a claim with KTAC after dropping a log on the hood of my BX2370?

Was helping a neighbor move some large oak rounds and one rolled back onto the hood. It was a big wake up call as I didn't get hurt and it scared some sense into me. The log dented the hood pretty good and the rolled onto the left floorboard, denting the edge of it too. Have you all filed a claim like this before? Should I expect my yearly premium to go up? I think the hood will need to be replaced and I think the dent in the floorboard can be hammered out with the right tool. I've had the insurance since taking possession of the tractor ~ 8 months ago and this would be my first claim.

I believe I would give them a call. I have never had a claim, but many on here have. I have had their insurance for many many years, but fortunately have never needed them. I guess I am helping pay for your claim! perhaps others can relate their own claim experience.

Get a repair estimate. Bearing in mind that you have a $250 deductible before KTAC pays balance of the claim. Decide when you have your repair estimate if it is worthwhile to submit a claim.

I have never read of KTAC increasing anyone's premium. There have been rare reports of insurance being cancelled on fully paid off tractors after egregious situations and claims.

I have dealt with KTAC on two tractor repair claims ($1,400 & $2,800), on two separate tractors, over the years. In both cases my insurance premiums totaled more than KTAC's claim payments over the tractor finance periods. KTAC was pleasant to deal with on both claims.

Thanks for the help. Good point on the estimate -- makes sense to compare that to the deductible.

Definately file the claim. I had the same thing happen plus some more damage, shredded the cooling fan, destroyed the instrument panel, and the shop determined the HST was overheated so they rebuilt that also. $8.5K later I got it back. Call them and they will get the info from you, give you a claim number and you take it to a dealer shop. They deal with KTAC from there. Very professional, no hassles, no rate raise. I plan to extend it when paid off next Feb. If you finance via Kubota Finance you have to buy the insurance.

Ditto what Ron has said..... KTAC is very easy to work with and just follow the steps that Ron has outlined above.

No advice on the claim but do suggest adding some bars to the top of the bucket so the repeat does not happen.

Thanks for the help again. I contact KTAC, got a claim going, and have scheduled with my local dealer to have them pick up the tractor tomorrow or so. KTAC said they would cover transport to and from... but the dealer said this isn't normally included. Has transportation been covered for you all? I will reach out to KTAC to verify. I appreciate your responses.

KTAC said they would cover transport to and from.

Transport for repair was paid for by KTAC for both my claims.
