Should I buy a Yanmar 155D? need advice

I've been looking for a garden tractor with FEL and rototiller. Found a 1977 Yanmar 155D that meets these specs. FEL recently got new hoses. Price is right. Not sure about the engine. Its a few hours away, so I would be prepared to haul it home when I go to see it

Is this bigger than a garden tractor, and if so, how much bigger? I'd like to get it into my 12" barn breezeway for stall cleaning. Also rototill in my 1/4 acre yard. My JD tractor is too big. No snow here.
Is this a good model? I'm excited to find it, hoping it is a smart buy. But at this price I figure the engine may be going, or gone. How big a deal is that?

I think this would be an excellent machine for what you want to do. The "D" means it has front wheel assist, and the three digit model # makes it a legal import and not a rice tractor. If it doesn't smoke or miss, it's probably OK, and there are a lot of after market parts available. I had a 336D for about 10 years, and it was the best tractor I've owned. These guys are tough!

If it starts readily, and of course no obvious problems like crunching in the transmission etc - jump on it before someone else does. These are pretty much indestructible.

As for size - here's a photo of my slightly larger YM186D on my 4x8 trailer to give you an idea. Another photo - with 4 ft mower - to show these are highly maneuverable.
