Hey CMV, how did your pumpkin project turn out? I may have missed it, but I didn't see a follow up.

for elevation I just use the cab of my truck and stand in the best of it when I shoot - been doing that for years and the cab makes a nice place for the led sled - plus don't have to stand in the bugs/weeds/grass

never had any troubles sighting in for deer season doing that - did sight in at a range for elk tho when I lived in MT.

I have used picnic tables for a rest with the lead sled also.........works okay

Im not trying to shoot dimes at 100yds im shooting deer so my kill zone is much larger ;-)

I posted a couple follow ups. The pumpkins themselves mostly good and got a lot. They were just ready way too early so hard to sell. Ended up taking remainder and feeding to the pigs :( They still looked ok and were firm, but white ones starting to yellow a little and culling out newly "bad" ones with soft spots twice per week. Wasn't comfortable continuing to sell ones that looked good but probably wouldn't make it to Thanksgiving - maybe not even Halloween. Learned a lot and will try again next year - costs will be much lower next year since a lot less to buy.

Ran 2 diagonal pieces front-to-back of the two center "walls". That made a huge difference making it incredibly solid. I think I would push it off the blocks before getting it to sway any in either direction now. Very happy with it.

Trimmed the odd length deck boards overhanging one side and used a few left over deck boards (bad shape ones) to trim 3 sides. Placed them horizontally and overhanging the top platform by about 3/4". That creates a little ledge so if I drop a round or ejected cases bounce around still won't roll off the platform and get lost in grass below. I think most semiautos will still launch a lot of ejected brass clear of the platform, but last one was only 4' wide so should catch more at least. I don't think any bolt action will let any brass leave the platform making recovery & cleaning easier. So other than waiting until I can stain & seal it it is finished.

Now I need to learn how to make Adirondack chairs :)
