Just purchased my first tractor a 2005 Shire 354 (basically a Jinma 354) running a TY395I engine. Its been pretty much neglected over the last 10 years and I am not sure when it was last serviced. So the plan is to basically change a load of filters (air, oil, fuel, hydraulic lift) replace the oil and top up on the transmission and hydraulic fluids and check coolant - is there anything I have missed and what should I watch out for as I am doing this overhaul?
Its got a new battery and starts well, but the hydraulics on the FEL leak like a sieve so that's the next project after the service. Most of the electrics don't work either but the battery does appear to be charging just cannot do anything in the dark
One of the things I have noticed is that I cannot lift the hood unless the FEL is in the high position - is that common?
New to the forum and looking forward to having a play over the summer - may even try and build a new dash board since a replacement is over £300! - anybody actually replaced the dash board / gauges?
And finally in the UK (you may have noticed the spelling) and there appears to be no real support over here for Chinese tractors - which is a shame since I am really please with mine so far.
