Saw several comments about "shimming" a loader on a 790 to increase capacity. I'm wondering if there's a way to get some quicker dump cycle speed for the 200cx on my 2305... the thing is darn slow. Not interested in adding capacity, as it's plenty capable for lifting.

I'm also thinking ahead to the winter and how nice it would be to have a quicker response for snow removal - specifically dumping the bucket and rolling it back.

The "shimming" is done to increase pressure (PSI) which in turn increases lift capacity, it has NO effect on speed. To increase speed you must increase flow (GPM) and that cannot be "shimmed".

Pressure does the work, and the Gallons Per Minute determines how fast it get's done.

You might check to make sure the regen. function on the dual SCV is not locked out. There is info. about that in the manual.

You'r hitting on something I have been thinking about.

Increasing pressure will not increase the Gallons Per Minute rate at all. Is that right?

Just thinking now. My power washer is 2600 psi but the Gallons Per Minute from the water system does not go up when it is running. Good comparison?

I thought I made that pretty clear in my post above. The ONLY way to get more GPM out of these type pumps is to turn them faster...and that just is not feasible.

Sometimes I'm a little slow. Got it now. Thanks:)

since were on the subject, how hard is it to shim the pump and gain lifting force on the 200cx?
how much will it gain?

It's not hard, and I think the 2xxxseries tractors do not even use shims like the 790's do, it's just a bolt with a jamb nut on it. You will NEED to buy a guage so you can check the pressure both before and after. There are lots of threads on this...

ah thanks for the info.
I know nothing about these hydraulics!
I'll search it!

kennyd,

how high would you dare crank up the psi on a 2520?? i think i'm around 2450 now.(checked it when i bought it in february) i've heard of 2600??

thanks!!

I checked my Kioti with a guage and it's around 2750 psi.

Good question, and one that I have thought about myself for my machine. My PRV is dead on 2450 which is perfect according to the specs...but I have wanted "just a little more lift" at times also...2600 is probably a good starting point.

What is is rated for?

I'm not sure what it is meant to be set at, I just assumed it was ok since it came that way brand new...My hoses are rated at 4780 psi (if I remember correctly)
