While doing some BH work for a neighbor, yesterday, the connector to the shift/neutral sensor on my 4115 (HST) got loosened by high weeds I was rolling over. The result was intermittent cut-out of the ignition while on the BH. It wasn't hard to figure what the problem was (but not where as I was straddling a ditch with the weeds nearly blocking all access to the underside of the tractor). Until it got real bad, all I had to do was to push down on the tractor seat before it cut out completely and it ran back up to throttle. I had to pull up out of the ditch and weeds to chase the sensor wire from the seat switch down to the sensor connection (at shift arm entrance to tranny, about under left foot). I found the connector was indeed a bit loose and a few tall weeds had lodged up in that area. I cleaned it and re-seated it...problem fixed.

My question is, for any who have experienced a similar undercarriage connector problem, other then an undercarriage brush gaurd, have you found a way to protect that connector from being dislodged by tall weeds? The connector does not seem to be a very snug fit. Perhaps that is a good thing, preventing tearing the wiring harness. However, it's a bit disconcerting when you're running the risk of being stuck in a ditch, can't start the motor, and T-Storms are rumbling around the area :-(
