Morning Folks:

This may be a silly simple question ...BUT;

The 180D Operators Manual reads that, you shouldn't shift on the fly.

So if you want speed; you start out in 4 high? Opposite to a manual car transmission ...

Can you shift without grinding gears in high? If your at the right RPM's range it shouldnt hurt anything; right??

If so why cant you shift on the fly? It has a clutch; so why not?

Cheers BC Dave

Because it does not have a synchromesh transmission.
If you practice at it, you can get pretty good at shifting at just the right moment without grinding.

If you don't shift at the correct time , you could chip or break a gear. If it doesn't have power shift . I would stop & change gears
