Tiller Shear pin vs Clutch

/ Shear pin vs Clutch #11
I will never again own anything without a slip clutch if it is available, just too much trouble replacing broken shear pins.

As to the width, get what best fits what you need it for. The common advice is to get one that covers your tracks, but you may want something narrower if your needs dictate. I have a 50" on my 2660, but I just use it to till up open ground for food plots and such.

Item No. 65517-OVGA at Harbor freight $60. I just got it mounted on my 5' tiller and haven't tried it yet. It was the cheapest I could find. I was told to run it and loosen nuts till just slips then tighten 1/2 turn and watch for a while that it's not slipping in the normal or average soil you have. I'll have play with it for while to see if I can run it without burning up the friction disc's. bjr

Thanks, I was looking for one for awhile and couldn't justify the cost till now.
