I've been wanting to ask her for awhile, but wanted to have the ring first. Diamonds are one of those things that I enjoy and would rather spend a little more for a better one with a certificate than get the biggest one.
After visiting with all the local dealers and a few in the Dallas area, I decided it was worth my time and money to fly to San Francisco to see my jeweler at Derco Jewelers. They are not open to the public, but have the best prices for GIA stones that I can find short of some online sources that I'm not totally comfortable with.
This is a GIA stone 1.54 carat's in F color and SI1 inclusions. It's a princess cut, which is her favorite, and mounted to a Tifany ring in white gold.
Now the plans are being made. We have both been married before, so the big wedding doesn't interest us. Probably just a Justice of the Peace and imediate family in the next week or two.
