There has to be members or spouses of members who have a passion for canning. My wife has developed a flair for it over the years. This is the peppers, carrots and onions she preserved this morning.

The wife is at it again this morning... She has already canned her homemade salsa and is now starting on pickling another batch of vegetable mixes. :licking:

well we are just getting started with our canning. the wife made 17 pints of strawberry jelly earlier. here is the first canning from our garden I think so far around 20 pints of sweet pickles DSC00524.jpg we are gonna have bunches of cumbers and beans this time, we done froze a lot of squash i'm worried about the tomatoes they look good just don't have a lot of bloom.

Good looking batch of pickles. Sweets and bread & butters are my favorite. The wife is now canning bread & butter zucchini squash. I'll post pic when she gets done.

They say if life gives you lemon you make lemonade. So what do you do when life gives you cucumbers and bell peppers. That's right, you make sweet pickle relish. Made 15 pints.

FSF, my wife has not made relish fro a long time. Here is a photo of her pickling for this morning. She found a recipe for bread & butter zucchini squash. Can't wait to try them. There is also jalapeno - carrots, the vegetable mixes and cauliflower.

hey all you canning experts I have a question. the wife and I were cleaning out cabinets and we have some canned green beans from 09. my question how long is canned food good as long as the seal is not broken????????. I have had answers to this question but all answers vary a lot.

Here are the last jars of zucchini pickles that I put up, and also a couple of loaves of zucchini bread. Granted, the bread is not canned, but it does freeze well!

it sure does freeze well wife put 5 loafs in freezer so far. do you put a lot of extra stuf in yours ? for me I just like raisins and black walnuts.
