The best part of that lumber load is that I'm pretty sure it could have just been slid into the bed, with no damage... I've done that a number of times on my old F250. Just pop the tailgate off so the fork truck can get in closer and have cribbing to set it on.

Dent at bottom of bed below filler hole. and the rear bumper and hitch have a downward angle and the 7 way wiring harness is hanging loose. This pallet of lumber sitting on top of the bed isn't this trucks first rodeo.

Look at the bundle of lumber. It is sitting on what appears to be a 2x6 crosswise that is sitting on a 4x4. Now look at the green banding on the lumber stack. The rear band goes around the lumber stack but NOT the 2x6, but the front band, somehow magically also goes around front 2x6.

Also, blow up the picture and the side of the bundle of lumber is all fuzzy. You can't even tell why kind of lumber is in the bundle.

I'm now convinced it's fake.

The actual bed damage looks real, like someone dropped a big forklift down on it or a piece of equipment fell on it or something, just that the bundle of wood looks sus.

A stack of 2x4's, 4'w x 4'h x 6' long is 2500#, say 600# point load on each of the 4 corners. Probably would bend the bed rails a little.

Agreed... when it's sitting still in a parking lot. But I suspect you'll find that even a moderately bumpy stretch of road or single pothole can exert forces above 3g, maybe closer to 5g, on even the suspended (sprung) part of the vehicle. Now your point loads are 1800# to 3000# each, and up to 12,500# total for the bundle.

You're not seeing it right. The lumber unit has 2x4 stickers banded to it at both ends so a forklift can get under it in normal shuffling during delivery and around the yard. Both front and back. The 2x4 sticker is clearly banded to it in the front, but the rear 2x4 is sitting behind the cross-bed 4x4/2x6 stuff.

You can also see a flat spot in front of the 4x4/2x6 that looks an awful lot like where the forks of the forklift were when it lowered the unit onto the bed sides. And likely the same right behind the front 4x4 cross-sticker. You can even see where part of the forklifts mast/frame contacted the bed in the middle as it was lowering the unit.

I see it now. It also makes sense that it would bend right at the body crease line and be stronger where the inner/outer panels come together below the crease line as seen in the photo. I guess there is no 2x6 on the front 4x4.

What everybody seems to be overlooking is the additional stress on the bed of strapping the load down. I carry the same sized strap to pull my snowsled out when I get stuck, and have used them to pull my pickup out of the mud on occasion.
