Indiana has banned operating your vehicle while on your phone, and I can say almost every trip I make into town I see someone staring at their phone
Why would you pull out in front of a truck, let alone one with a loaded trailer behind it?
They would pull out because they aren't paying attention. They have a video screen in front of them, a cell phone in their hand, a car the tells them if there is a car next to them, what could possibly go wrong? Driving is the last thing they are thinking about and for some of them it will be.
That or they don't want to be behind the truck pulling a trailer.
They would pull out because they don't expect a pickup with a grossly overloaded trailer. Or it might be that the car in front of him stopped to make a turn. Or it he might have been the one not paying attention...
When you are driving through town with a load which is over twice what the truck is designed to stop, all sorts of things can go wrong.
Plus it wasn't his truck, and he was pulling a borrowed trailer.
Have you ever towed anything? I don't think I've ever been out towing without being cut off, people see all that space in front of you (that you left to be safe) and just want to be there... and apparently the think "That guy's big, I just HAVE to get out in front of him so I can go 5mph slower than he's going", not sure the logic on that one...
Which is why I run a dashcam.Except in most instances in a rear end crash, the person who runs into the car in front will be cited, unless they can get a witness to testify that the car in front did something unsafe/illegal, and in most cases, that isn稚 going to happen
