Washington came up with a new scam years ago. They moved the WSP to the DOT. Now they pay for them with gas tax. That is constitutionally only for roads. They added a 104 dollar dollar surcharge to fines over a certain amount that goes to the general fund. Then they hired a lot more cops. It's an indirect way to get the gas tax for their liberal spending. We have more WSP than other states. They won't stop you unless you are going fast enough to get the surcharge. That means 11 over. They will try not to notice if you are slightly drunk. That takes them off the road too long and costs the state money instead of adding money.

Sorry I commented, need to get back to towing wrong.
However, I didn't mean "let the drunks drive"' I was talking about never a warning anymore for a rolling stop, speeding, burnt bulbs, seat belts, etc.
They need that $ and the only way to teach you to obey is to take yours.

I just wish they'd "teach people" to use turn signals, run their headlights in low visibility conditions, and (getting back to the original topic) to display working trailer lights when towing things...

I don't experience many of those "violations" and I really couldn't care how fast anyone wants to drive. The faster they get away from me, the better. It's just the endless jackazzes that tailgate (and endanger my wellbeing) that get to me.

Would you have been harmed if you had done the speed limit during that whole trip rather the obstructing traffic?

If I have to stop, they will hit me. And TOTALLY unecessarily. Nothing about tailgating or following too close derives any benefit whatsoever. Just TOTAL stupidity and ignorance. Plus probably billions of dollars a year of unnecessary property damage.

Creating a safer situation. If you hate me going 10 % faster than the (POSTED MAXIMUM) limit, you are going to LOVE me going 20% SLOWER. One day, one of those jackazzes is going to buy me a new bed for my truck. Mine is rusting out.

Seems you are jumping to conclusions, or I missed something. Driving the speed limit isn't obstructing traffic. I don't think he has said he hangs out in the left/fast lane with no regard for faster traffic. That ticks us all off I think! Tailgaters irritate me as well. If they are right up on my tail they better have a reason, like they are just preparing to go around me. Why give up that margin of safety when you don't have to do so?
