Near here on I-35 its not unusual to see several vehicles all in a group, pulling vehicles. Working lights on the vehicles being towed is usually limited to the the last one in the group. Seems they are usually heading to Mexico. They are often full of a variety of merchandise also.

Those three pickups. That's just the way stupid people drive around here.

Same in Colorado heading south on I25. Usually a pile of them on the same day as some of the big auto auctions clearing out totaled vehicles.

Saw this on my way back to town last night:

That's 2 pickups being flat towed with tow bars behind a 3rd.

It was ok though, he had his flashers on the rear truck.

Looks normal for a caravan heading down to South America.
Sold a trailer hitch once to a guy who was putting together a caravan of 2 Dodge Caravans to tow behind a F450...

Yes, I-35 is a major corridor through Texas to Mexico. About 10-14 years ago TDOT did a study of I-35 truck traffic between San Antonio and Laredo. They said an average of 14,000 trucks PER DAY use the corridor. That doesn't even count the non-commercial traffic as you mentioned. Road maintenance or a simple fender-bender will back traffic up for miles. I can see the I-35 overpass in Lytle from the back of my property. It's about 4 miles away. I usually check that before heading into the big city (SA) on I-35. If the traffic is stopped, I take a different route.

Sometimes taking a different route is getting more and more difficult. I always look for alternative routes everywhere I go and have my favorites around San Antonio but you are certainly right about how a small fender bender will back up traffic for miles. And two occurring at about the same time in some areas will cause gridlock for the entire side of town. It's a serious public safety issue.

I was wondering if I would have to post that one myself here! Snowmobile man got a ticket - but not for the improper load, only for not wearing his seat belt. He got only a warning for "over width load"

If you didn't care about the car, I don't even see anything so wrong with that, provided it's strapped down in a manner that would keep in in place, even during a collision.
