You don't understand, it's not unsafe if you pay the state.

Permits make it safe.
I technically didn't say it was unsafe, but it is wrong. He doesn't have a wide vehicle clearing the way or wide load plackards on the front.

If that load had an escort/pilot car, it was ahead blocking the road so the load could proceed.
Could also have been police doing escort duty.

I was a distance away so getting a good shot was tough. It's hard to see, but the ball mount is bent. And the safety chains are neatly hung on the trailer:duh: I also don't see a cord for the trailer

The wheels are 8 lug so likely 7k axles, but the trailer doesn't appear to be built heavy enough for 14k?:confused3: Either way, those pallets are probably 2000-2500lbs (or more?) each and there's 7 of them. Plus the weight of the trailer.

What could go wrong?

That’ll get them an OOS, all day. That is completely irresponsible.

And fined, heavily and probably towed as well. As it should. We aren’t talking about a few hundred, or even a few thousand pounds over, with good equipment. It’s **** equipment and overloaded.

Since the VW is FWD, I'm surprised it didn't start rolling down hill immediately when the front wheels lifted...unless they had the parking brake on (unlikely as that would be smart(ish), and this person clearly is not...) or it is photoshopped. Or maybe the trailer frame dug into the ground

Thread title is "Share Pics of People Hauling or Towing Something Wrong". I don't see anything about 'carrying' .

Gotta be a set up though. There must be some rolling gear under there some where.

Maybe it's more of those Harbor Freight floor Jack's leftover from the rear end of that house trailer that was draggin.

The death penalty doesn稚 even deter most crime it痴 aimed at. Many studies abound that have proved that the severity of punishment is not as much of a deterrent as the likelihood of being caught.

So, are you saying that there really isn't any way to deter people since they aren't even deterred by a very painful/expensive/life-changing punishment? If so, we really don't need laws, just some guidelines and suggestions for the good, responsible folks.

Or are you saying that having a law and a light penalty like a fine is more of a deterrent for doing something wrong than a severe penalty? That's an odd take on things.

Neither one of those make sense so let me re-frame the picture:

Stupid, irresponsible people are going to do stupid things and cause problems, pretty much no matter what. But if you make the penalties harsh enough for them it is likely to be a great deterrent for the rest of society that is much more 'normal' on the responsibility spectrum. Much moreso than having a ton of restrictive laws that only serve to cause responsible people problems but don't actually deter the egregious ones. Do we make everyone pay a little because a few people can't be good? Not my preference.
