Something I just thought about was a 50 HP tractor I had delivered a few years ago. The guy had it on a flatbed with a chain on the rear axle and good to go.
On the front, however, was a length of chain on each side that went from stake pocket to stake pocket and was looped over the tread of the R-1 ag tire and tightened with a chain binder. The chain was just looped over the edge of the ag tread, tightened down and that was all. All that held it was tension on the edge of the tread. I never questioned it until this AM but it sure doesn't sound like it would pass muster. It was a high quality dealer.
