It was mostly in jest...the idea of a Versa towing something that has bigger tires than it just seemed fundamentally wrong
From a driving standpoint, he was definitely causing problems and being a general hazard to everybody around him....one of those folks who just seem to be in the way, and have no idea of the problems they're causing for everybody else.

Gman - You have mentioned the trailer having larger tires than the car numerous times - other than the obvious load capability of the trailer being greater than the car is there something i am missing regarding tire size?

I only mentioned it twice, so I think "numerous" is a bit of an exaggeration. As I said it was mostly in jest....it's just kind of funny to see a sub-compact vehicle pulling a trailer, and even funnier when that trailer has larger tires. Most very light duty trailers don't typically have full size tires, and the Versa is limited to a very light duty trailer (think 1,000lbs was quoted) so there's really no need for large tires on the trailer. That makes the whole thing sort of an odd combination.

From an old Carpenter friend. Why buy a second trailer that looks prettier with the car.
I understand your concern with the unskilled driver, I would stay clear too. But if that trailer isn't loaded over say 800 lbs GVW I wouldn't replace it.

Hold brake pedal down and press throttle = black smoke out the stacks without moving. You never watched a drag race or sled pull?
Who unhooks a lowboy with the front up that high? The shadows all match so I'd say they jacked the front of the trailer up enough to clear the bed rails just for the pic.

But it isnt Photoshop. True story is that this pic has been around at least 8yrs and the guy admitted to simply backing up to it and holding brake and the gas down, as many guessed.

Didn't get a pic but got into a accident the other day and only one who could get us was my grandma and their ext. Cab was in the shop and only had a single cab 5spd Ranger. Can you imagine 3 bigger people and another regular sized person in a manual Ranger. Had to go like that for 30 miles
