I'm not sure it's "towing wrong" as much as just plain old wrong....Nissan Versa pulling a utility trailer that had bigger tires on it than the Versa! I got lucky and had to stop on the exit ramp, so I had time to snap a pic. The guy barely knew how to drive, much less how to tow....was in the way of everybody trying to take an exit and navigate an entrance ramp.

Gman your pic doesn't show him doing anything wrong? Or does it? I believe you, just don't see a problem.

He is probably exceeding the towing capacity of the versa.

Versa appears to have a 1000lb towing capacity, shouldn't be any issue as long as there's nothing too heavy in the trailer.

Thank goodness I'm not the only one here that has problems. Every chevy I've owned has had the tailgate fall apart. My 05 duramax did and was a pain for working construction needing a tailgate that wouldn't work alot. Our 99 chevy also had a tailgate that didn't work. Then our 93 chevy didn't have straps for the tailgate and when we got to the jobsite it was missing. Didn't hear it fall off or nothing. But a board worked alot nicer then that tailgate for a replacement.

Headed to work this evening and came across this one. Good solid STRING doing is best to keep them on there. She was driving about 45 on the 70mph expressway. But surprising enough, she was in the right hand lane.

I saw a Silverado with a canopy on the freeway loaded with tools. The tailgate was down, the back hatch was up and one side access window was open. Not safe to take a picture. I bet he got in his truck and forgot he had everything wide open.

My '85 Dodge has one pull bar/linkage that popped out.. Good thing it has finger catches on the latches so I can still open it ;)
