I was at home depot today and they were loading a full pallet of wood pellets on a guys trailer as we were walking out. The guy had them place it at the end of his 16' utility trailer and as we were walking by they asked if that's where he wants it and he said yes, perfect. I looked at his hitch and it was trying to lift the back of his truck off the ground, took all the weight off the rear wheels. I then saw his back trailer tire was completely flat. I told him he should move it to the front of the trailer and he just looked at me kind of grumpy like. I told him the issues with his placement but it wasn't till the home Depot employee asked him if he'd like to move it that he finally said anything but not to me. He had his strap in his hand ready to strap it at the back. But thankfully for other motorists on the road he did have them move it but didn't seem happy about it. I'm assuming it is because he would have to carry the pellets further to unload them.

It's amazing when you see how oblivious some people are first hand, makes this thread easier to understand.

Not sure if I ever mentioned this but my wife wanted a new kitchen stove last year and we advertised the old one on Craigslist. The old stove was 100% clean, perfect and looked like new. I put a low price on a nice stove just to move it fast.
Anyway, a foreign sounding guy soon called, said it was perfect for an apartment he had and after I quizzed him a bit he was on his way over. He sounded so meek I wasn't sure what to expect. The fellow was Asian and totally unfamiliar with what he was doing as well as the big Dodge truck he was driving. We put the stove in the back and he half-azzed tied it down. I said you better tie that down better but he confidently assured me it was fine and that he knew what he was doing. Oh, well and off he went and way too fast.
About 10 minutes later he called to say that the stove flipped over (and out?) and was ruined and he wanted to come back and show me. I think he was about to say he wanted his money back but I told him I was on my way out the door and not to come back. He must have accelerated too fast and it flipped.
The only thing that came to mind was the Clint Eastwood movie quote. "A man's got to know his limitations".

As if over 3000 postings on this thread weren't enough, this weekend I Googled "Compilations - towing fails" and got to watch a whole lot of foul-ups...mostly involving tow straps or tow ropes. Also, the "Compilations - trailer fails", was a time-devourer ("glad I wasn't that driver" was a recurrent thought). Maybe I'll get to those undone chores next weekend...
