The garage is still sitting there along the road. I have not heard any more info yet. I will keep you updated when i hear more. Truck and trailer are still there as well....
Mover is probably finding permits are a lot harder to pull halfway through the move. Probably cost more too! ;)

Any more info on this? Is it still there or any details?

Living in serious farm country and flat ground, I have seen incredible loads hauled over country roads. I've seen buildings, grain bins, tractors with triples that are wider than the road and on and on. I have never seen a police escort and rarely seen side flags. I think rural areas, especially farmers are given a wide berth and I've seen many loads wider than that building.

I suspect most areas have some sort of 'farm use exemption'. I know they do up here. Pretty hard to argue your case that hauling a garage down the highway is farm use

Not sure how far this garage traveled before it was pulled over. I was heading home from church and saw this about noon today. Its still sitting there tonight.

Thankfully when we moved the latest garage we didn't need to cross any roads https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j-62o6KIDPs

That said, this is the second time that trailer has moved a garage. The first time I took it apart and stacked the wall pieces, standing up, on the trailer. Built a rack to hold them. Had to drive 2.5 hours with the building down interstate highway. I made sure we left good and early in the morning. One was to make sure the night shift was still booking their DUI's, but also to avoid any cross winds that might come up once the sun rises.

Neat video Cord.

There is a video around of many Amish men just picking up a barn and moving it roughly the same distance. They bolted pipes to the inside and everyone picked up at the same time and just shuffled along.

Very cool! You must do that kind of thing for a living?

Saw this today. Both sets of chains were just hanging there. As you can see, the back chain is draped over the cylinder on the arm.

That chain has a binder on it. Just not tight.

Yes, they both had binders in it. It was obvious they hadn't bothered to tighten them at all though.

Today, I saw a skid steer sitting on the dovetail of the trailer with no chains on it at all. About a week ago I saw a truck and trailer with a good sized tractor on it. He had used a single ratchet strap across the top of the rear tires to tie it down. The same day I saw a truck pulling a trailer with a small excavator, skid steer, and a load load of pipe. His load weighed about 20,000 pounds and he used two ratchet straps to attempt to secure his load.
