This is what happens when it's you and 4 ladies trying to get everything out of the house before the violent ex boyfriend comes home..

Only went a few miles on city streets with some extra straps. Nothing lost. Not the smartest thing I've ever done for lots of reasons. :drink:

Co-workers....

That is when you inform them that you have a tractor with a backhoe and you can make the problem "go away"

Gotta say, that excavator was definitely chained onto that trailer well!
That, and, 50 tons of inertia just doesn't stop!

I was in Los Angeles doing random project record quality control checks, when I saw on the news there was a similar incident at the overpass widening project I was going to visit in the morning. First thing in the morning I called and cancelled, they had more important things to deal with than an auditor asking for files.

From the TV news it appeared something had gone wrong at the jobsite and the falsework (concrete forms) had collapsed, or a crane had fallen off the overpass, or something. A couple of days later I visited and heard the real story: some guy with a crane truck was motoring along and his boom, cantilevered forward in front of his cab, bounced up and caught the last 12x16 timber supporting the concrete forms. The timber fell and killed him. Caltrans project management and the contractor performing the work had no responsibility at all, the clearance under the falsework was a foot higher than the earlier warning signs and the guy's boom was found to be not strapped down. It had bounced up a few feet from its cradle to snag that timber. True story, with a fatality.

Tie downs ARE important, aren't they??

Looks like truck has front end damage and struck other vehicle quite hard. Probably broke whatever tie downs were being used.

My comment was sarcasm. But still, if the tractor was chained down well it shouldn't have come loose.

almost seems like steering could be optional as well... front tires look pretty light with snow coming down..

I saw this pic on another site. Someone from Cincinnati commented that they recognized the car and saw it in that area carrying pallets like this occasionally. 'Once and done' seems crazy, but know this guy hauls like this occasionally is insane!
