Settled on a tractor--2009 5055E

Well after all the internet searching, head rubbing, and hair pulling I have found a tractor. I'm headed to the dealer Monday morning first thing to workout the price. It's a 2009 JD 5055e with 103 hours. Front tires are 9.5/-24 and the rear tires are 14.9/-28 95% tread left. MFWD with a synchro trans with 8 forwards and 3 reverses. Has 3 SCVs. No cab or no loader.

Dealer is asking $19600. While there I'm going to buy a cutter and tiller. Cutter is a Frontier RC1072 $1799 and haven't decide on a tiller.

$19,600 is asking on the tractor
$1799 is asking on cutter
$1900??????? on tiller

Hopefully be able to get Tractor and 2 attachments for around $21,000..... possible??????

Mutton Equipment in IN. is asking 22 for a 2010 5055E,tractor only. So it seems
your deal for a 2009 5055E with 103 hrs and two attachments is reasonably possible. ......my .02

Went to the JD dealer today. The list price on a used 2009 5055E with 103hrs was $19,600. Tractor only no loader. I asked if they could lower the price any and he went and got a book. I guess it's was they paid out for whoever traded it in. I believed it was leased. He stated he couldn't come off the $19,600 price. I asked if they would fill the tires. Nope it would be a $375 charge. Then they wanted 20% down which surprised me a little. I can buy a new car every day and not put anything down.

It this typical of John Deere to not come off the price? ANY????????
20% down normal??

By the way they quoted me a new 2010 4105 with a 300cx loader with joystick for $22840?? Good price???????

These are quite different tractors 5055E and 4105. You might wan't to spend some more time sizing up your needs to determine which would work best for you.

Just an opinion but I think 20% financing is reasonable and wise, in these tough economic times people need to be vested in their loans and purchases. Since tractors are optional for me and are held in the same realm as having an rv or boat I put 30 to 50% down. This means I can pay it off before it looses its luster.

if you need a loader your prolly not going to find one for around 3k and its new also the 4000x series is prolly higher quality the e series is an economy tractor built in India buy jd with jd materials so should b fine but i believe the 4000x have reverser's

I think it is difficult to buy any new tractor without at least 10% down if financing. JD may have changed to 20%. My last 2 tractor purchases required 10% down - one from JD and one from Case-IH but these were 2-3 years ago.

We just financed a new 5083E 0% for 48mo and we only put 5% + taxes & fees. The dealer told us Deere likes to see 10% but it's not required.

The 5055E was a bigger tractor that I actually needed. BUT if the price was right I was goning to get a bigger tractor with more HP. We couldn't close a deal though. I ordered a new 4105 with a 300cx loader. The tractor and loader are $21,700 with no $$$$ down and 0% interest for 48 months.Tractor won't be ready until March 14ish? Dealer is ordering the loader.
